Legend goes to say that the Saint and Christ were on Cavalry and they reached Jaen. Here, the Saint wiped the face of Christ with his napkin. The Cathedral is beautifully decorated. The interior of the cathedral is liberally decorated. The cathedral is declared a UNESCO heritage site.
Monestario Santa Clara:
This is a monastery of the 12th century and history says that some monks lived here. This is a place of great reverence for the people of Jaen. The monastery is open only during the worship hours. The other popular monastery is Royal Monastery. This is just at a distance of about three kilometers from the Monestario Santa Clara. It is believed that Royal Monastery was being used as University of Jaen’s headquarters.
